12 Lines A Whiner

So I mentioned before that I have weak bones suseptible suceptible prone to fractures.

Since I found out,  I've been taking care of myself with vitamins, green drinks, and exercise.

Then I fractured another bone in my spine a couple weeks ago. That makes 4. WTF??

It's painful. It's debilitating. It's depressing. It makes me feel old and afraid and sad.

Eventually, I'll be a hunchback which will be a real wardrobe challenge.

On the upside, my shoes will always match because I'll have a great view of my feet at all times.

The downside is it means more doctors and tests to find out the one thing I want to know.

Why?

If I could just know that, then I can know how to fix it. I could know how to fight this disease.

This disease that makes my lifespan 30% shorter.

And speaking of shorter, I'm shrinking.

Thanks for letting me whine. I'm done. I leave you with this uplifting thought:

Funny and inspirational quote about life and getting through hard times.

**Participating in Mama Kat's pretty much World Famous Writer's Workshop where I chose writing prompt #5 - Write a Post in Just 12 Lines. And these two lines don't count.**

Succinctly,
Lori

Feel free to whine anytime. Carrying such a heavy burden is not good for your bones. I hope that you find out some good answers soon!

Whine away friend... and feel free to pair it with wine. You sound like you are taking it with a great deal of humor. I hope that's the case. I love love love the final thought you shared. I'm adding it my list of daily mantras. I wish for you to get better news soon. Thanks for sharing.

First off, I love the quote you ended with!

Anyway, you definitely get to whine! I hope the doctors find out what is going on!

I just love your attitude and the quote at the end of your post. I'm hoping they find something to help you quickly. By the way, you have a right to whine!

Is this something that has developed recently, or have you had it since birth? Either way, it must be very unpleasant. I just found out I chipped my shin bone a little over 2 months ago when I fell up the stairs. I still had a painful lump and showed it to my oncologist today, and he felt it and said it was a bone chip. I can only imagine how painful the kinds of breaks you get must be! Whine away!

It came about shortly after menopause. Still don’t know the reason yet – hoping the endocrinologist I’m seeing next week can help me find the answers. There are always worst things to whine about though. I visited your blog and you’re a breast cancer survivor – now that’s something to whine about

Thanks Carol. I think I'll put that on a T-shirt.

Thanks, appreciate that! I couldn't find your blog to comment back. Did you participate in Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop?

Well, crying makes my makeup run, so laughing's better. I love that quote too - I thought it was so funny. Thanks for the well wishes.

Stress and worry actually does weaken your bones, you're right! Back at you on the whining front. I read your post and you have reason to whine too. We can whine in harmony.

Thanks - me too!

Thanks Lana!

Thanks for that. I was actually surprised at how much whining I could do in 12 lines.

You aren't taking Fosamax, are you? That stuff is going to kill me!

Look at the bright side... you'll still always look better than your hubby.

P.S. We don't say WTF in this house.

I took it for about a month last year when I was first diagnosed. Then I decided I wanted to try other methods first, before resorting to drugs, so I stopped taking it, changed my diet, took supplements, exercised, blah, blah blah. It was pretty unnerving knowing I couldn’t lay down for 30 minutes after taking it for fear it would burn up my espophagus! You take it? Have you had side effects? Do you have osteoporosis? The doctors may end up putting me on something, but not sure how I feel about that now.

Oh that really is so scary. I'm pretty sure you're allowed to whine when you're in that kind of pain with that many unanswered questions. Yes, I think that's the rule. So sorry, I hope your doctors are on top of this and working to figure out why this is happening!

Thanks for stopping by!!

I too have 5 compression fractures and deformities in my back along with severe scoliosis, carpal tunnel which may need surgery, IBS, and my right knee is bone on bone with a meniscus tear now for 2 years. I am no stranger to pain but I still work full time as a nurse in ( of all things) a physical Medicine Rehabilitation Unit!! Worst physical job in nursing so How stupid am i??? LOL!!
BUT there are worse things in life..... I am a cancer survivor who has been free of cancer for 8 years now!!

Life is precious and we need to enjoy it no matter what, right???

Hugs,
Deb
